Mild stalls and Event Viewer errors

Post by caqde »

Two Systems

2.5.0 (Both)
2GB (system 1) / 2.8GB (System 2) L1 READ&WRITE & 250GB L2 on Samsung 850 Evo (Both)
Windows 10 Anniversary (Both)
System 1 is an FX-8320 on a Asus M5A99FX R2.0 with 16GB DDR3 Boot drive is a WD2003FZEX (WD Black)
System 2 is a Phenom II 955 @ 3.6Ghz on an Asus M5A99X Evo with 16GB DDR3 Boot Drive is a WD3003FZEX (WD Black)

Both are caching the boot drive and both have similar random errors in the event viewer pertaining to storahci "Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued." Neither has Raid setup only AHCI. Along with disk errors similar to "The IO operation at logical block address 0xd2ee8fd0 for Disk 2 (PDO name: \Device\0000002f) was retried." Disk 2 in this case is the cached drive and uncached checks of the drive show no errors (WDC Datalifeguard) passing full long and short tests. The logical block address is never the same. The disk message also comes in the form -> "The IO operation at logical block address 0x72b848 for Disk 2 (PDO name: \Device\0000002f) failed due to a hardware error.".

There seems to be no stability issues I've noticed with System 2 but there are some issues with System 1 although I haven't pinpointed the root cause as being Primocache atm although a high level of storahci events was listed before a system stall yesterday.

That sounds like Event ID 129 is triggered on your PC, when you have a stall. Looks like the both of us have the same issue.
Currently investigating this and might have found a solution to it. Check my latest post in this thread and tell us if it also works for you: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=4172#p10337
