Little hard drive lights next to activity in statistics

It would be really cool if you could place little lights similar to hard drives working next to the following indicators in the GUI

Total Read
Cached Read
L2 Storage Read
L2 Storage Write
Total Write (Req)
Total Write (L1/L2) (A separate one for each)
Total Write (Disk)
Urgent/Normal (a separate one for each)

This way when you watch to counts and graph update, which I like to do a lot, you can much easier see which parameters are active. I know that the numbers update but a little drive light for each that shows which is working would add a nice and novel touch. It shouldn't affect overhead at all.

Not essential to operation but would be a "nice to have feature".

Thanks!

An alternate way to do this that would not require GUI design and just as effective would be to merely change the color of the text of the parameters to green when the count for that parameter is updating and return to black when it is done. Just a way to make it clearer that data is updating.

I liked this idea a lot.

Many notebook users like me doesn't have the "tiny" HDD Access Light.

This feature was very usefull to determine if read/write was occouring, so with this suggestion this type of "instrumentation" can be enabled with "software light".
