A main competitor of PrimoCache - (Max)Velo(SSD) released a freemium version of their software. Sounds good, but actually there's a "brake" which after 1 hour of full speed slows down so much that my random 4k reads are 4MB/s and writes are 2MB/s at 32 queue depth - slower than my RAID0 of 2 VelociRaptors. Quite an useless way to promote software which is supposed to speed up the system. Full speed for a week or two with limited cache size seemed to be a much better evaluation.
Please don't go that way Romex.
BTW when is the next version of PrimoCache? I very much want to buy RAM/SSD caching software (Intel RST is incompatible with my system) but both PrimoCache and Velo crash after a day or two here, I eagerly wait for a stable version but releases are very rare, and Velo trial is completely useless now
A way NOT to go (Velo freemium)
Re: A way NOT to go (Velo freemium)
Well, we'll release a new version this week. However I'm afraid that this version still cannot solve your issue as we cannot reproduce the problem and have no minidump file for debug. Sorry.
