Limit Write Cache

Post by ShqTth »

Needs a feature to limit how much cache can be used for write cache.

The reason for this, is so that valuable cached data is not flushed out of ram defered writes is used over a long period of time.

ex: I use 4GB for cache on my raid, I use defered cache to help my IO. But after a long defrag or file copy, cached content is messed up.

write cache should be a percent or limit. ex: 20% or 1GB (that can be set)
And why not have this slider/value changable during operations without requiring a stop/restart? (changing the limit too small just forces a flush to disk)
