BSOD 2.5 on Windows 10

Post by RoyO »

PrimoCache version: 2.5
Cache Settings: see attachment
Windows OS: Windows 10 Professional (x64) Version 1607 (build 14393.82)
Hardware Information (CPU/Motherboard/Memory/Harddisks): 2.67 Intel i7 920/Gateway TBGM01/22 GB Ram/64GSSD, 1TB HD, 4TB HD, 5TBx2 HD, 2TB USB
Description: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT Bug Code 0x0000001a during qbittorent and copy large files between HD's
minidump_config.zip
Minidump and config file for primocache 2.5
(110.8 KiB) Downloaded 37 times
Running qbittorent to download linux ISO's and copying ISO's to a different drive caused BSOD three times yesterday and once today. The first three times were a hard lock without a dump being created. The forth time the BSOD did create a minidump.

This is repeatable for me. It is possible I have a new memory error as this is an old system. I'll run a memory test and revert to 2.4 to see if it reoccurs.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

I figure you restarted (not "shutdown and then boot up") the computer to apply the new version after you installed 2.5.0. Right?

I'm not sure, I think that I just pushed the button that said do you want to restart now. On Windows 10 it is easy to hit shutdown instead of restart, so I may have.

Memory test was good.
Going back to Version 2.4.0 was good.

If you wish I can follow a step by step set of instructions you suggest for updating and test Version 2.5.0 again.

I have fast boot turned on. Would that interfere with shutdown and then boot up?

I appreciate it if you do the following steps to install and test version 2.5.0
1) Download and install the version 2.5.0
2) Restart the computer. If you just shutdown, Windows only enters a hibernation-like state when fast boot is on and the new version won't take effect.
3) After restart, run test now.

Additional errors and information.

This only occurs on 2.5.0 and does not on 2.4.0. This is repeatable.

When restarting Windows; sometimes it is IDMan.exe and sometimes it is explorer.exe that errors.

Thank you very much for your testings again!
We have collected all information needed. We'll try to fix it in the next version and keep you updated. So far you may just use the 2.4.0 version.

You are very welcome and thank you too!

My feeling is that changes in Windows Anniversary Update is behind lots of problems.

Thank you for your fine software and support.
