Primocache Low Hit Rate and/or Resetting?

Post by taesong »

I am getting low hit rate with Primocache. I am wondering if Windows 11 is shutting down prematurely. Do you have any idea what's going wrong?

It's caching C: to improve boot speed, but not use up write cycles needlessly.

I changed the WaitToKillServiceTimeout (Registry) from 5 sec in Windows 11 to 60 sec and that seems to have fixed the problem.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Do you use L2 cache for the C: drive? If yes, a premature shutdown will reset L2 cache content.
