A question about Chkdsk and PrimoCache
When you run a Chkdsk, has the PrimoCache driver started before Chkdsk launches? I ask that because I find that Chkdsk seems to run quite fast and seems to get faster as it proceeds through the different stages as if much of the data is cached. Would love to know if that is the case or not?
Re: A question about Chkdsk and PrimoCache
Yes. Primocache runs at the kernel level. i.e. when windows is loading it's core at boot time, Primocache also loads with it. It is a lower level than that at which Applications run.

Ok. Fantastic. Thanks.
Re: A question about Chkdsk and PrimoCache
hello,
in windows11 (22H2) running chkdsk /F /V /R makes drive disappear from Primocache
is it normal?

Re: A question about Chkdsk and PrimoCache
That statement dismounts the drive, so yes, it should disappear from Promo Cache.
