PrimoCache 4.0.1 Server Edition CSV Installation Guidance

Post by facelessmanchs »

Hi All -

With the release of PrimoCache 4 (Server version) and its support for Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV), I was wondering if someone could provide guidance on the configuration. Obviously, on inactive nodes, the disk will not show up in the cache configuration screen because the disk is not currently connected. As of today, the main website does not appear to have updated documentation on this (feel free to show me that I'm blind if necessary). Thanks in advance!

In previous versions, CSVs were not listed and cannot be added to a cache task. Now in v4.x they are listed and you can add them to a cache task.
If you try to cache CSVs in failover servers, you should set up cache with L1 cache only and should not enable Defer-Write. Otherwise data corruption might caused when switching to another node.
