Hi
I have 1TB HDD paired with 125 GB SSD disk + 4GB L1 Cache . This is setup for games so L2 cache free space seems to be geting used quite fast.
What happen if L2 cache will reach its limit of free space?
Does driver will exchange rarely used blocks for used more often? Or just that will stop working for new data's?
Thanks for help
Lukas
What happen if L2 Cache is full? Topic is solved
Re: What happen if L2 Cache is full?
Your assumption is correct - Primocache will start dropping least used blocks in favor of more requested blocks. The most accessed data tends to stay in the cache the longest.
Re: What happen if L2 Cache is full?
Thank you very much. That's good info.
Ps. The only thing I need to do is exclude games folder from AV real time scanning during instalation. Last time after installing new game all files from this game have been indexed by Primocache. Also Steam / Uplay temporary install cache folders i have moved to another HDD to avoid READ during moving by installer from temp to final destination (I've used symbolic link).
Best

Sounds good, I always exclude folders from scanning when I care about their performance.
