Hello, has anyone got any experience using Primocache on a Hyper-V Host that uses CSV's as the storage for Virtual Servers (vhdx's)?
The path to the Volumes is usually C:\ClusterStorage\Volumex\...... This is a transparent path to a LUN on a SAN.
Will it work with a CSV?
Was it / the host stable?
Was there any noticeable performance increase?
Most of the Hosts will be running Server 2012r2 / 2016 - with Gui. With approx 32GB - 64GB RAM assigned to Primocache - that's the plan anyway.
Some hosts vary from having 2 VM's to 10 VM's - usual fileservers, small SQL Servers, app servers etc.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi,
the Version v2.4.0 of PrimoCache (Server Edition) does not Support CSV Volumes - our CSV Volume is not shown in the Dialog when you
want to add a cache to a volume...

Re: PrimoCache with Cluster Shared Volumes
The beta Version v3.0.2 also does not allow Cluster Shared Volumes to be cached.
This is a screenshot of mountvol which shows the mounted volumes and their drive letters:

Re: PrimoCache with Cluster Shared Volumes
PrimoCache only supports volumes which are listed in Windows Disk Management. It cannot support symbolic mounted volumes.
Re: PrimoCache with Cluster Shared Volumes
Hello,
the volume is listed in Windows Disk Management , but it is reserved by the Failover-Cluster
Would it be possible to support this or is it impossible ?

Re: PrimoCache with Cluster Shared Volumes
Theoretically, it is possible to be supported by PrimoCache. We'll check this.

Re: PrimoCache with Cluster Shared Volumes
@thommyf, sorry but we're still working on it. CSVs don't work like local physical disks, and it may not be easy to support it simply with current design of PrimoCache.
