Maximum RAM Disk size enough?

Post by stardust »

Is Maximum RAM Disk size enough through the life of Primo?

Today, LGA2011-motherboard has 8 memory slots maximum.
Maximum size of one memory card is 8 MB.
So personal use (not server use) computer can have 64 MB memory, already.

But Maximum RAM Disk of Primo professional edition is 24 MB only.
Usually, this should be unlimited, I hope.

For example, RamPhantom (Japanese Ram Disk Software) is unlimited, with real-time-save feature, about 30$.

Did you have a verry old computer that use MB memory size SDRam or older type of memory like Edo, ... , "or a typos text problem". = P.s. maybe you should write GB, that the size is more related to memory DDR type.

Also you have a good request, ... i thinking to ask the same thing, ... that only 24GB max for the Primo Pro version is not the good way, if the software is used for a verry long time of software life. (But try the Primo Server Version when it will be released).

Oh sorry, I had mistaken, and you(sst) are right.
Please change MB to GB.
I am not so good at English. (Good at Japanese.)

It may be right, and may depends on price.

But at that case, it is not clear the position of standard/professional/server edition.
So professional edition should have the feature of unlimited RAM size,
or limited size but over 64GB minimun, for advanced personal(not server) users.

If not, I have to use server edition.
Then Professional Edition may say "Are there worth of my existing?"

Screenshot of Primo Ramdisk shows capability of 36GB RamDisk volume.
It is Professional Edition 5.1.0 Trial version.
But edition comparison shows still 24GB max.

Which is right?
What is maximum size of professional edition now?

You'll find that the virtual disk is a hybrid-disk in the screenshot. As the specification says, the hybrid-disk size can be 1MB - 1TB in Professional Edition. However the memory size still limits to 24GB, that means maximum 24GB memory allowed in a hybrid-disk.
