Fancy cache started after windows loaded

Post by Icodia »

Hi all,

Is there a way to activate large cache with FC AFTER Windows loaded ?

I explain : I'm trying FC with 40 GB cache (on a 64 GB RAM Server, Win 2003 x64), and when I start the cache, FC takes about 200s to have the full cache taken (the first 24 GB are quick, then it's slower from 24 to 40).

The problem: if FC is configured to start cache at boot, the server is taking a long time to boot (as It wait for FC to start all memory cache). If I stop FC cache before reboot, the reboot, the start FC AFTER server 2003 booted and OS services available, It's fine, as during the FC cache taking RAM process, all hard disk access is available, and server is less unavailable because of long reboot.

Thank you for help !
Raphael.

Hi Icodia,

I am sorry that there's no easy way so far. But we'll support command line interface later. Thus you can start/stop cache via command line.
