Best settings for my setup?

Post by robalm »

Hello!

I have:
16gb DDR3 1600MHz
Two SSD, intel 80GB (C:) and a 64gb OCZ octane (D:)
The C: drive is for my windows 7 and program, and the D: drive to install some games on (BF3 and some more)

How should I configure fancyCache for maximum performance on my C: and D: drive?

Edit: ESPECIALLY I am looking to get my google chrome to be as fast as possible (before I drove ramdisk that I put google chrome cache on) would be fun if i can do something similar with fancyCache?

The only real thing I can see to speed up that computer would be to just set:
D:
L1 to about 4-5GB
Algorithm: LRU
Strategy: R

C:
L1 to about 1-2GB
Algorithm: LFU-R
Strategy: R/W

The SSD is already like your L2, so no need to set that. Giving the most ram to your D: drive because your data/games will be wanting to load bigger and smaller files that could slow down the hard drive. C: drive less as Window 7 already does load bal on it self + window 7 and the programs that are mostly on it are static data (Data that wont change to offtend) witch makes setting the LFU-R nice as it will load data that you mostly will be using faster such as chrome.
