Updates:
1. Add option "Overcome HDD C1 Issue": C1 value on some hard disks, especially laptop disks, may increase quickly when Defer-Write is enabled. Enable this option to solve the above issue. This option is enabled by default. If you are using SSDs, you can disable this option for better performance.
2. Fix bug: FancyCache (Disk Edition) application may crash when you have also created ramdisks.
3. Fix bug: Level-2 cache may not start (during boot-up) if it is on a external disk or a dynamic disk.
4. Minor updates on UIMMI module.
5. Trial period: 180 days.

Just installed the disk edition as upgrade on 0.7.0 and rebooted.

Well, because trial license key file has a higher priority than normal trial period, if you have activated FancyCache by the trial key file before, FancyCache will dertermine the trial period according to the information in the trial key file.

But don't worry about it. When trial key file expires, FancyCache will continue to check normal trial period. At that time, FancyCache will show "180 days left".

So you don't even need to uninstall previous installation.

Thanks for the reply.
I just checked the program before opening the forum, and can see that it renewed itself to 180 days.

Thank you.
C1 = low power sleep mode
When you use deferential writes and got C1 enabled for your HDD, you can risk that your HDD goes into sleep mode while data for it is written to ram, when the FancyCache then meets the time value that tells it to write to the disk, the disk will first have to wake up before it can be written to.
Since a HDD is mechanical, it takes longer time to wake it up than a SSD, that is where the whole problem was.
I guess that fancy cache either keeps the disk alive or wakes it up some time before it needs to write now.

I'm not writing this exactly like it happens, means I would need to include ACPI etc., but I think it's easier to understand this way.

Here HDD "C1" refers to "Load/Unload Cycle Count" which is the number of head parking cycles. To reduce power consumption, most mechanical hard disks, especially laptop HDDs, have the feature to position the HDD's heads in a park position and turn off unnecessary electronics after some seconds of inactivity. When HDDs receive read/write or other activities, heads will then be placed back to the right position. That's 1 load/unload cycle.

Since FancyCache intercepts read/write activities, HDD is more likely to park its heads. Thus this may increase C1 value quickly. That's why we have a new option "Overcome HDD C1 Issue" in version 0.7.2.

Another way to solve this issue is to disable parking feature or increases idle timer by using quietHDD tool.
