Shutdown fails on Windows 7 64bit

Post by robvdlv »

Dear Romex Software,

Having upgraded to Windows 7, when shutting down (Shutdown) Windows 7 64bit, an error occurs and shutdown just hangs.
The error:

My settings:

I am using V4.1.5925.1624 Professional of your software.

Any hints?

Regards,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Thank you for your feedback.

From evernt viewer, it looks data on ramdisk is corrupted.

Could you please help us to check the following questions?
Is the "ramdisk.vdf" a new file or an old one?
Does the issue happen every time?
Does "Error" (time 17:42) in the Event Viewer happen during shutdown or after you restart the computer?
After reboot, ramdisk R is ok or not? (you may check R drive by running "chkdsk r:" in the command prompt (run as administrator))

Thank you.

Have been unable to respond to your question sooner, sorry.

- new file
- yes
- during shutdown, result is that
- after reboot ramdisk file is corrupt

How to get Windows Media Player toolbar in the taskbar in WIndows 7? In prior windows (at least windows xp) you could right click on the task bar and select WMP as one of the toolbars so when you minimize it lets you use the controls from the taskbar, but i cant figure out how to do this in windows 7, any help?

Just for reference, if you have installed Avira AntiVir software, it may cause NTFS corruption. see

(this issue has been fixed now)

I just downloaded it today (3/19/12) and have the same problem. SOMETIMES Windows 7 64-bit hangs on shutdown when RAMDisk is installed. You never know when it will happen. It happens with DATARAM's RAMDisk as well. They also acted like it was the first time they had heard of this. If you DON'T have the RAMDisk set to write on shutdown, the system NEVER hangs.... But it hangs many times on shutdown IF the RAMDisk image is set to save to disk.

Is there a command line I can run to save the RAMDisk manually?

Well, we have discussed with dvnation about this issue. Here is some information for other users. The issue reported in this post is not related to VSuite Ramdisk. Actually VSuite Ramdisk already fixed such issues and we haven't received such hang/fail issue since the latest version of VSuite Ramdisk released.

The issue happened on Primo Ramdisk v5.3.0 with SCSI ramdisk only. Direct-IO ramdisk is ok so far. We'll fix this issue soon.
