Re: PrimoCache + windows cache
I tried I tried Windows Dynamic Cache Service . It doesn't work on windows 7. It's meant for windows server. Strangely enough it does include windows vista in supported OSs. I tested filesystem cache by searching for all files. Even a day later (without restart) searching the filesystem again doesn'...

Re: Freeze problems when using primocache
Well I had it happen once or twice with no write caching at all. It is less frequent though.

Re: Caching both SSD and spinning disk
I tried it for a while. However the data read from spinning disk is not that much - jumps to 800 MB for a day and then stays there. I can't even fill 20 gb L2. So I'd much prefer to cache whatever I use the most. If I ever need frequently used data from spinning disk and it's not in L1, but it's in ...

PrimoCache + windows cache
Hi, I noticed that after resetting the cache no reads are made for the same files. That probably means that windows have cached the files. That's good in most cases because windows uses he free ram as cache, but this makes collecting cache less efficient. I would like to disable windows (read) cache...

Using help link on primocache
Because primocache is run as Administrator clicking on help link will start browser with administrator privileges. This might or might not be a big problem. There is potential risk of some malware browser extension to access restricted places and do more damage than it should without admin privilege...

Re: Shared L2 partition
In other words L2 must be a single block and cannot be fragmented. Not a big deal. I'll reassign L2.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: How does primocache know what to prefetch when there is no L2 cache
Thanks for the reply. I was worried that they will be big, but they are not. How often does primocache write to these files? I see few gigabytes writes a day on my SSD on an idle PC and I'm trying to figure out what's causing it.

Shared L2 partition
Hi, Recently I wanted to add part of the L2 partition to another cache task. It's a 14 GB flash disk. It was assigned to cache task 1, so I limited task 1 to 8GB, then I added 1 gb to task 2, then I set task 1 to "MAX" and rebooted. Now task 1 is 8 GB, task 2 is 1 GB and I can not increase...
