Re: Is FancyCache single threaded?

I'm curious as to what you are doing. I've tested F.C on a few E3's & E5's (HP & Dell's), Core i7 and some older processors such a Core duo & a Core2 duo, I never really saw any real hit to the CPUs.

Re: <1% read hit rate with Diablo 3

Most of what you said is exactly right but there are some things that are making bad assumptions on. High-Speed-USB3 is a bloated synonym for universally plugging in any device at average max speed 33MB/s, sure tehcnically the specification should provide more but never worked for me. Please not tha...

Re: <1% read hit rate with Diablo 3

I know you probably don't want to hear this but the USB flash drive is the problem and new H/W is really the simplest and best solution. There is to much overhead, not enough bandwidth and the way that your particular USB flash drive stores data may not lend itself to caching at all. Flash drives ar...

Re: Is FancyCache single threaded?

What are you trying to accomplish? Or is this just an academic question?

Re: Would you suggest me to give it a try ?

So my short answer is yes but it's usefulness is relative to what you software you are using. Since you have no SSD & this version has a leak L2 caching is out. So you really only have L1 caching to play with. Here's the thing you have a very good chance of corrupting data (I've done it numerous...

Re: SSD cache for Win8 Storage Spaces

I personally can handle all of them with workarounds and it is (for me and my application) still the best solution on the market.
I'm sure you can...

I wish you the best of luck, make sure you have good backups..

For those of you who think that SSDs wear out easily

This is an urban legend. It was thought that SSDs would be able to wear out when first gen drives came on the market but it never became a real issue. This press release is for a PCI SSD but they are the exact same memory chips that are in a 2.5 SATA SSD. 10 Petabytes of writes is a HUGE amount of d...

Re: Fancycache vs turning off HDD Caching

Do not turn off your windows paging! The page.sys is a vital part of your memory management system and if you disable it, you will actually degrade system performance and reduce system stability. Fancycache doesn't replace any caching mechanisms in the system it works in conjunction with them. Movie...
