File/Folder Exclusions [Progress!]
When using a RAMdrive image on a cached volume (that starts up with/during the Windows boot process), it ends up taking up cache space. I would like to be able to have a list of file/folder exclusions so that we can deny Primocache loading of those image files. They are only usually accessed on boot...

Great to hear it. I can't tell you how nice it would be to use it.

Context Menu - Load file/folder to cache (L1/L2)
I would like to get specific files into the cache (the entire file, not just sectors of it) before running apps/games. They could be a savegame, or a temp file that gets reused, or a large resource file. There's no way right now to request/force Primocache to load a file of our choosing. It would be...

Re: Primocache stops writing to L2 after a while
You may just be hitting a practical, usable limit on the L2 cache Rob. You can try the link I left in the post above yours, that resets the Windows performance monitors. But it sounds like your L2 is loading fine, it's just topping out before you'd like it to. I have my L2 set to 30gb, and it floats...

Re: One 32GB SSD - 4GB page file & L2 Cache?
You have to create a separate "volume" for the L2 cache to use, they can't be the same logical or physical volume. Use the Windows Drive Management tool to separate the physical drive into logical volumes, then assign one to the L2 and format the other for use with the pagefile.

Re: Can't boot two machines after windows updates
Just curious if you received any official support after you submitted your email Leesamn. I'm also having issues related to reboots, where the system reports it wasn't shut down cleanly. Without PrimoCache running it almost never has reboot issues. I can continue using the software but due to the un...

Re: primocache and Perfectdisk defrag conflicts?
The only thing I'd recommend with defragmenting is temporarily disabling the L1 write cache (if you have it enabled). It should work with all online (not boot-time) defragmenters.

What's wrong with this picture?
Proverbially speaking, what's wrong with this picture: I used FancyCache and PrimoCache during development, and had decent results overall. Part of the problem back then was Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate not shutting down cleanly a lot of the time. I would get on a very regular basis "Windows did n...

Re: Primocache stops writing to L2 after a while
The only thing that appears to have helped me with regards to the faulty/slow L2 cache is enabling/resetting the performance monitors in Windows, via this article: http://blogs.technet.com/b/yongrhee/archive/2009/10/06/how-to-rebuild-performance-counters-on-windows-vista-server2008-7-server2008r2.as...
