Great, I am testing this already. Thanks!

Re: Multiple disks - Unified Cache
But when has DataCore UpTempo been updated the last time?
I see no support for x64, no for Win 7, no for 2008 Server R2...
And the price is useless.
Regards,
Axel

Re: Multiple disks - Unified Cache
Does it really degrade the performance? Ah, ok, I see - you would need to store the volume or disk info along the block number and the block data, and the cache for all cached volumes must use one same block size preferably. But that doesn't sound so impracticable for me. How many disks would one ca...

Re: Few Suggestions
As of now the deferred writes seems to collect writes and overwrites of the same blocks until the set latency time is reached. Then the data is actually being written to disk. This is helpful to minimize "wear and tear" on the SSDs, which have only limited write cycles, so it extends their...

FancyCache and MetaSAN?
Hi, I would like to know if anybody tried FancyCache on MetaSAN volumens? MetaSAN is a SAN file level sharing software. Each system sees the shared fibre channel drives as a local drive and control over MFT is done via a MetaData controller (MDC, one computer connected to the FC SAN as well). The po...

Re: Defining multiple 2nd level caches does not work
Willt hat option become available in future? It would be VERY helpful. So we could use a high quality SSD as entire "system cache", regardless of from where files are being read. The RAM could be used as the buffer for deferred writes to the 2nd level cache. Btw, as you did already quite a...

Defining multiple 2nd level caches does not work
Hi! I've just tried to use FC for volumes. I have three volumes on that machine (C:, D; and SSD F:). The config was as follows: C: 1st Level Cache: 1024 MB RAM, R/W, 4KB Blocks 2nd Level Cache: 8192 MB on SSD F: D: 1st Level Cache: 2048 MB RAM, R/W, 4KB Blocks 2nd Level Cache: 16384 MB on SSD F: I c...

Hangup with FC 0.5 Volumes
Hi! While doing some intense tests today I've seen already 3 times a total system hangup. No mouse, no task manager, no disk activity. Leaving the machine alone for more than 20 minutes did not change anything. I used FC 0.5 beta for Volumes and cached only the C: volume. Sometimes I used only first...

Re: Will FancyCache allow caching of network mapped drives?
We are going to test FancyCache on a Windows 2008 R2 server with 4 SSDs as Cache RAID. We will see how that actually improves the servers I/O reaction time. BUT My original question was meant in a different way. We do not want to cache the files on the server, but on the slowly connected clients. Im...

Will FancyCache allow caching of network mapped drives?
Hi! We have here a bunch of machines that connect to a file server. Typically the local disks aren't the big issue, but the shared network drive(s) from the server are the bottleneck. We want to cache them on a local disk or SSD, so we get much quicker access, plus we can reduce network load, thereb...
