Re: PrimoCache Load for L2
...I am trying to create a method to pre load a RAM disk for L2 but this info will help me choice the best method... Anyone considering this should review the Primo Cache's cache on a RAMdisk? thread. I can't really see the point of such a setup since you use RAM for a L2 cache which could be bette...

Welcome to the forums Pudding,
How are you measuring DPC latency and what is the most significant downside for your system usage?

Re: PrimoCache working very well
Romex's online L2 cache documentation does provide some useful details on how L2 is used, but more information on the interplay between L1 and L2 would certainly be useful.

Re: Enterprise-level PrimoCache and the future
...I think it'd be in PrimoCache's best interest to keep at least an unsupported version of what they have now free/nearly-free to home, non-commercial users (with some reactivation cycle, so it just can't be install-and-forget on a machine)... While I agree that a limited free version (perhaps onl...

Re: Samsung Magician RAPID and Primocache
Samsung's RAPID mode simply uses RAM to cache their SSDs - in other words doing the same thing as PrimoCache but only working with specific Samsung SSDs, very limited configurability and far poorer performance (I see 7x-8x the performance stats with PrimoCache that SSD Review report with RAPID). Whi...

Re: Made my pc so slow had to deinstall
I don't think PrimoCache (in its current form) could offer much benefit in your case - your system has little (if any) spare RAM for a L1 cache and USB flash drives can be slow enough to be only worth using for the smallest files (your second post probably hits it on the nail here). Adding more RAM ...

Re: Powersave Bugcheck
If you're using version 0.91, then try upgrading to 0.92. That fixed a fatal error with L2 caching.

Re: Suggestions
Another "problem" is that windows itself does a wonderful job cashing last-used frequently files, formerly known as "standby" in the RessourceMonitor, you can review that percetly in detail with Sysinternals RAMMap... Windows' own file cache does this, as you note (the Performan...

Re: Pagefile in ramdisk (question)
Some useful discussion on pagefile utilisation on CodingHorror: Running XP with the pagefile disabled. Having a small pagefile on Ramdisk would seem to get you the best of both worlds (lightning fast paging while not overly limiting Windows' memory management).
