Re: Primo Cache's cache on a RAMdisk?
Already said that... waste of line of text xD (btw, these are the comments that make what you say less trusting to read =/ Please read 100%... At this point, I'm going to have to assume that English isn't your first language since you are contradicting yourself. Specifically: You state that a UPS i...

Re: Primo Cache's cache on a RAMdisk?
Actually... that's silly and more of a waste of ram and startup/shutdown will become really slow.... You are better off using one or the other really. You're assuming the Ramdisk has an image file - if it is used for temporary data, then it doesn't need one. So the example given by Incriminated is ...

Re: Primo Cache's cache on a RAMdisk?
Welcome to the forums Darkquark, If by saying "put the cache files on my RAMdisk" you mean set up a L2 cache on a Ramdisk then don't do it - you lose the benefit of a persistent L2 cache (unless the ramdisk has an image file) and it will be slower than if you used the Ramdisk memory as L1 ...

Re: Read/Write Strategy
Welcome to the forums Username, The PrimoCache Configuration Terms page has more explanation of the cache settings. The cache "policies" are presets to simplify configuration so you should choose whichever option you consider most important. For most people, read/write would be best but if...

Re: version of AMD Ramdisk
Sorry Odette, you're on the wrong website. AMD's Ramdisk is a different product from Romex's Primo Ramdisk (and inferior IMHO, given it's restricted feature set).
The AMD Radeon RAMDisk Support Center is your best place to seek help with your issue.

Re: large l2, low physical mem overhead cache possible?
You may also want to consider combining some of the hard drives (e.g. the 3 x 1TB ones) into a single RAID volume so they can use the same cache (RAID-0 should give a performance boost, but make sure you backup regularly!). Also if the drives are used to hold rarely accessed data (videos watched inf...

Re: Ram-Disk unpartitioned space
If you've uninstalled the ramdisk software, then any memory used for ramdisks will be freed up (stopping ramdisks with the ramdisk control panel would do the same thing). Task Manager's Performance tab reports total memory usage and you should see this rise and fall as you create and delete ramdisks...

Re: Few questions
Also, what about price? I'm sorry that the price is not finalized yet. When you do set a price, please don't limit purchases to Paypal only - they've blocked purchase attempts from me for some years now (yes, I use an anonymising proxy for network access). When I picked up a copy of Primo Ramdisk, ...
