Re: Are you still developing Fancy Cache?

No need to be sorry, this is free beta software, I wouldn't dream of complaining. However the long delay between releases seems to be affecting user engagement. To be honest, I don't really have any issue with the software it works very well and despite the memory leak it doesn't crash nor does it h...

Re: Are you still developing Fancy Cache?

I'm not usually one to get impatient but 9 months is a long time to wait, especially with a nasty memory leak. Any chance your team might consider moving to smaller more frequent releases? That seems to be the popular trend these days, use the Agile method, do smaller incremental releases. Plus smal...

Re: Breaking your hard drive/data into multiple drives with

Since my use is just for the home, the tolerance (or risk) I have for errors for the sake of convenience is quite a bit higher than yours. My system does not get used nearly as much either so the chances of hardware failure are much less. With me doing things user induced disasters are probably muc...

Re: Breaking your hard drive/data into multiple drives with

Rich, You have the right idea in some ways but there are a couple of issues that I can foresee with your setup. Yes you do want to segregate your data from your OS but I'd like to suggest you are taking it a bit to far. Keep this in mind, the more complicated you make your setup the more difficult i...

Re: FancyCache Startup Control With Windows 7

No problemo.. I'm not very familiar with F.C's architecture but my best guess is that it works on the driver level. So it wouldn't be something that shows up as a service or process. I'd suggest using system restore for testing, it's overlooked a lot but it's a fantastic tool. I always take a snapsh...

Re: Problems With Uninstall

Turo - I'm glad you solved your issue but I doubt F.C was the cause, software under windows doesn't have the ability to modify the bios (except for one's written by your Mobo manufacturer) this is a security mechanism that stops viruses & malware from bricking your system. Most likely it was a h...

Re: FancyCache Startup Control With Windows 7

Well the easiest way to turn it off or on is just to stop caching.. You'll see the resources free up in the resource monitor. I'm using F.C on a server so I don't have access but generally msconfig is where you'd look to see what's starting up (don't use it to disable services though unless you know...

Re: Problems With Uninstall

Well this wouldn't be a fancycache issue as a OS wipe would take care of that.. If you've pulled the CMOS & reinstalled Windows and it still persists it's probably not a software issue UNLESS you are trying to use 32bit windows on a 64 bit H/W with more then 4GB ram.. Have you tried updating the...
