Re: Feature proposal: allocating level1 cache in VRAM
I don't see an useful scenario for this. Nowaday (affordable) graphic cards are equipped with 4-8GB memory. Let's assume you could use 7GB even with 48GB/s. Which calculation task other than simple copy could an cpu core do to these 7GB data? You will just move to another bottleneck for ... longer b...

To bad
Block level support is good, since it will only cache used blocks instead of whole files. On the downside it is also not possible to exclude some filetypes or folder from caching for the same reason as there is no cache content viewer? How will Primocache determine the ranking which block will be tr...

Re: Restore GUI ...
I just noted, you are right. But it's the first time after weeks it works for me. I can only imagine it remembered the layout since I closed the app after adjusting the layout. I did this when I started this thread. Before I just adjusted the GUI, minimized it and restarted windows a while later. Se...

Restore GUI ...
I use the option 'Restore GUI window to the last position at startup' , it restores the main window just fine. The issue are the monitoring list boxes and the graph box. I adjusted both list boxes width and also the the column width, same for the graph. So everything fits in the main window and the ...

Re: Upgraded to Win10 (1709), system freezes
Shutdown takes forever if there are still open programs/windows. Seems automatic closing them is not working well anymore, maybe it's a setting I didn't discover yet. For the freeze issue, try to reinstall your driver some might not have survived the upgrade unharmed. In my case I noted, the freeze ...

Re: Upgraded to Win10 (1709), system freezes
I am still verifying my findings, but it seems the crash was not related to Primocache. Since yesterday it runs again with my old settings without crash. The real problem was the graphics driver. I found several reports from other users with the same issue. After upgrading windows some software (e.g...

Re: Upgraded to Win10 (1709), system freezes
... might just have been lucky with my upgrades to the Fall Creators Update. As I wrote, I am still colllecting infos. I noted some weird lines in the eventvwr and have to check this out. Maybe it's a good idea also to give win a fresh install after some upgrades and playing with settings, but I wi...

Re: Interruptions while playing
Old topic, but since there is still no answer I just write my thoughts here, maybe it's still helpful. With my first setting I also had some strange problems without L2 running full. That time I couldn't even play an video on steam without stutter. As far as I remember stuttering was gone when I pau...

Re: Looking for Suggested Settings for 32gb DDR4 Ram
Hi, I am far from beeing an expert, but the experience I got so far from L1 caching: (SSD with 2GB L1 cache, 4K/R&W/Defer 60s/Average/FreeWritten,Flushsleep/Prefetch@Boot) - it seems to have more use for my systemdrive, since windows produce a lot small writes there - it reduces massively write ...
