Re: Failed to create or join a cache task

You may check if there was a Windows event logged by the source "FancyCcV". If you see this event, you may upload its event data which contains error information. Usually this is because the volumes to be added are very huge while the cache block size in this cache task is too small to ha...

Pagefile on hybrid disk

While it is possible to set a RAM-only Ramdisk as location for the pagefile it did not work with a hybrid disk.

Is that a known limitation? The idea was to use a hybrid disk as storage location for the page file so it will fill up RAM first and if it gets to big the disk.

Re: GUI data not updating while running minimized

When it is in the minimized state, PrimoCache is designed to stop collecting and updating statistics in order to save resources. However, when the GUI exits the minimized state, it will continue updating the statistics. I checked but don't see the problem you reported. I was not referring to the st...

Re: Level 3 cache?

I'm sorry that we don't have the plan to support level-3 cache. 1. L1 cache from RAM 2. L2 cache as virtual disk on dedicated logical volume on NVMe 3. L2 cache on SATA SSD set to cache the logical volume of No. 2 I don't understand this setting. L2 cache can only use one logical volume. And L2 cac...

Re: Level 3 cache?

While this thread http://forum.romexsoftware.com/en-us/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=4797#p13621 seems to answer the question if a Level 3 cache is already implemented, I wonder what would happen when setting up PrimoCache the following way: 1. L1 cache from RAM 2. L2 cache as virtual disk on dedicated l...

GUI data not updating while running minimized

The free space figures in the GUI Window were completely off from what Windows has been reporting.
Primocache was running minimized in the system tray for some time. It was required to exit Primocache and re-opening the GUI to have the figures updated.

Level 3 cache?

As we might plan to add SATA SSD to a machine, it is considered to use them as cache as well. However there is at least theoretical performance difference between SATA SSD and PCI SSD. Is there a way to add something like a a level 3 cache? So that first of all L1 cache gets filled. After that the s...
