NVMe to choose for L2 storage?

Hi I am finally getting round to putting my large steam collection onto a NAS, specifically truenas scale. It will be an ISCSI block share (deduplicaton & compression on the Server). On my gaming machine, are looking to get a 500 - 512GB Nvme for a cache drive. It will be put into a PCIE NVMe ad...

Direct Storage

Hello I have been trying to find out how primocache works with direct storage. I searched and found a few posts from about a year ago which had little useful information. My main computer is dual boot windows/linux. Windows is only used for gaming. Presently windows 10 but may be upgrading to 11. Pr...

Games are becoming huge, so are soon getting more disks to put in my NAS, install Truenas (the next version). So setup an appropriate hard drive based iscsi device to access...

Re: L2 cache no longer working

So 3 or 2 drives in software raid or a single SSD would lose the L2 cache after reboot. After a but of messing around, found out it is a software issue. I restored an image from about a year ago and it was working. What a hassle. I had to update a lot of things. Good job I am paranoid when it comes ...

Re: L2 cache no longer working

I am able to setup the L2 cache and use it initially.

The problem is that when I reboot it is gone.
The software is presently useless.

I have a registered and paid for software and it is not working. It is an unacceptable situation.

How is this fixed?

Where is the technical support?

L2 cache no longer working

Hi I have changed a few drives on my PC. Previously it was working fine. Now when I setup to cache a drive with any L2 cache there is a major problem. I can set it up and it works. Backup Software Skewes the cache

Hi I use Macrium reflect to make a backup of my boot disk. It is a 60 GB SSD I cache it presently with 4GB of main memory. I do a full backup once per month and differential backups daily. These are setup to be done automatically. Each time the backup is done, all the taken SSD space is read, which ...

Re: Question about invisible memory

Thanks for the reply. I do not have the extra memory yet. I was thinking of buying it if it would speed up my computer a lot & useful when I update my OS. Another thought is using unused memory in graphics cards. I have a gtx 670 used for cuda based stuff only, rarely more than 200 MB of the 2GB...
