Ability to open up more than one copy of GUI

Today I was in a situation where I would have liked to be able to see the activity on two drives at the same time. It would be nice to either be able to run multiple sessions of the GUI or spawn a window where I could see the activity on another drive at the same time.

Two GUI suggestions....

1. An "always on top" option would be great for when you are doing testing and moving around Windows. It is a pain to always have to find the GUI under other windows and select to bring it back on top. 2. There would be one keyboard shortcut to have that would be really nice and that would...

Re: L1 to L2

Further - I then copied 8.8 Gb and it seems that the numbers updated correctly. Maybe the instance above with the screenshot and 1.15 Gb, it might just be semantics of the output of what is going to L1 and/or L2.

Re: L1 to L2

I was able to reproduce it again, but this scenario is different to the last. The last scenario I was copying 80 Gb files. This time I was operating a program that did quite a bit of constant reading and writing so most data would have already been in L1. Notice here that is says that 621.47 went to...

Re: Is there any way to force L2 cache a specific directory?

Here is a file you can download called readfile.exe. It just reads files and is used for testing disk speeds. The original build of this program from http://www.winimage.com/readfile.htm has a bug recursing subdirectories. I had a programmer correct this for me since it is open source. You can get m...

Re: L1 to L2

This is strange but I cannot reproduce the problem today. I definitely saw it happening the other day when I was copying the 80 Gb of files, but now it is working normally. I apologize if I gave you a red herring to chase.

L1 to L2

I have an L1 cache that is read and write and I have L1toL2 checked. I copied around 80 Gb of data to a drive and about 60 Gb of that wrote to L1 and about about 20 to L2 because of the L1toL2 setting. But - At the bottom of the statistics, the Free cache (L2) number does not change at all. This is ...

Re: [2021-01-30] PrimoCache 4.1.0 released!

For those wondering why is someone still using Vista 32?? It is a highly underrated operating system. It has been running on an original install on a system in our small office as email server and database server switched on 24/7 for 17 years. The original hard drive died 6 months ago and it restore...

Re: Primocache Prefetching from HDD and not SSD?

I think that just by limiting L1 fill size to 4kb, whether prefetched or not, then I could commit much less RAM to L1 on my C: drive (Samsung 970 EVO Plus, PCIe 4x, NVMe v1.3) and still get probably 90% of the benefit I get on that drive (I currently commit 8GB for L1 and I think I could lower that...
