Please try again in english and with punctuations (thinks like . and,) because i have no clue what that means. ... why should any drive not work just because it's connected through PCIe. Exclude blocks from PrimoRAM-Disk-Images

Starting the PC with cache being active on a partition while auto-load a RAM-disk makes Primo read-cache the RAM-disk images. Reading-In such RAM-Disk image is a non-frequent task that won't happen again during the runtime... so we do not want it to be cached at all. To this time i have to sep...

Re: Automatic allocation and deallocation of L1 cache

Written data is obviously retained in cache in case it needs to be read soon after writing. So after boot-up, the cache gradually grows and grows as applications are accessing files. Dynamic deallocation: when a user-configured critical low memory situation arises (for instance, I would configure &...

Re: Wich link between L1 and L2 caches?

does it go to the RAM through L1 It depends on how frequently access that recently opened data compared to the actual content of L1. L1 IS RAM! It should get read from L2 into RAM... then if L1 has space left or if L1 is full and the data is accessed high frequently, the data gonna be kept in L1 vi...

Re: defer write for how long

In certain areas in the world there's statisically high likely no considerable practical use for an UPS, because power-outage not happened over decades :D ...ya still in the next moment it may happen ^^ The measures to ensure safety, availability and integrety of data strongly depends on its "c...

Re: Crash Wiped my cache!?

Does not help. Continsistency checks do not measure if critical data is out-dated "out of sync". ... and last but not least, cache does not work with "files"...only "blocks", there's no way to check files at all, not in the background or foreground or anywhere else xD Y...

Re: Will L2 survive file system disk check?

Your PC should not be able to do chkdsk on C:\ during the runtime and should have wanted to rebooted the PC to do it at the time during boot up... before anything cache-related was started??

That should have worked as supposed.

Re: Question about TRIM support

WIth CrystalDiskInfo you can read out this relevant SMART values for example: SSD Wear Range Delta = Delta between most-worn and least-worn Flash blocks. SSD life left = is based on actual usage and takes into account PE cycle consumption (life curve status) and Flash block retirement SSD life-curve...

Re: Question about TRIM support

Will the TRIM support detect when my SSD starts getting worn out Thats not it's function. How would I know that the SSD is close to needing to be replaced? Same like you now when your HDD needs to be replaced: Errors, malfunctions related to the drive, in doubt report to vendors' support! Will I se...

Re: RamDisk or PrimoCache for Photo Editing Rig?

http://imageshack.com/a/img18/1729/a1u4.jpg Here is mine. AS-SSD is not capable of benching the RAM-Disk so i put it only up to show you that overall speed depends on system-hardware-speed (RAM/Chipset/CPU). See in my case how much more faster a direct-IO-RAMDisk is compared to L1-R/W-cache in raw ...
