Re: Are SSDs really worth it?
Given SSD's performance advantages (particularly with small files) and more rapidly falling cost/GB, it won't be long before everyone is asking whether hard disks are really worth it. ;) Especially as the general public turns more to streaming over downloading. It's pretty hard for the avergage use...

Re: Benchmarking PrimoCache
I did some testing with FancyCache and the problem that I ran in to was actually due to the architecture of my MoBo.. MoBo manufacturers do a lot of shady money saving things, like sticking the storage controller on a single lane PCI bus (so they can save the lanes for video cards) or they daisy cha...

Re: Are SSDs really worth it?
The short answer is SSDs are indeed that useful you should get one or two (I have 8xSSDs in my rig) :D The cells of a SSD can be wiped/written a limited number of times. Which is far more then what you'd use in a normal desktop setting. This idea that SSDs would fail due to memory cell failure never...

Re: Windows 8 cache vs PrimoCache
RAMbo, You have many layers of caching that occur on every layer of the OS stack, these things work together not against each other. Windows caching is a part of the memory management system and it works in an entirely different way then PrimoCache. People often get this confused, but these caches a...

Re: Invisible memory reported to be too large
It's not that cut and dry.. It's not necessarily the videocard reserving the memory (most don't these days, unless it's very old) other hardware can reserve memory as well.. Check the system configuration settings This problem may occur because the Maximum memory option is selected incorrectly. To f...

Re: Dual Booting and Linux question
Yes you can use Fancycache in a dual/triple/quadrupedal boot but you'll only be able to use in Windows, there are similar product available on Linux (bCache). Windows suffers of drive issues and disk fragmentation a way more Sorry but this is not true.. NTFS is fairly resilient to fragmentation and ...

Re: Next Version?
Why are there so many Primo Cache posts in this section? Wouldn't it be better to move them to the Primo Cache Forum instead of the FancyCache forum?I started using Primo Cache 0.9 today.

Re: does fc-cache cache the MFT of the drive?
From what I gather you are asking for a previously requested feature which is precaching specific data (such a file or folder, in this case the MFT)..

Re: does fc-cache cache the MFT of the drive?
the MFT will be handled just like the rest of the data on disk if that part of the MFT has been read before it will be cached..

Re: Can "latency=infinite" setting work?
Tekken - Unless you are using this with temp data it's a really bad idea.. probably the worst thing that you can do with F.C. Incrimninated - What you are asking is what happens when set no write delay at all.. which is the best possible use for F.C. Keep in mind in most cases Write delay just hides...
