Re: Recent Experience with Rootkit Infection and Primocache

PrimoCache cannot tell which data is useful and which is harmful as it's not an anti-virus software. Users need to check the computer to prevent infection.

Re: About L1 and L2 write cache behavior with defer-write enabled

If you have 10GB L2 write cache, when L1 is full it triggers urgent writes, but incoming write-data can still be cached into L2, making the write performance close to the L2 device.

Re: development status?

@minhgi, Most improvements are related to Defer-Write, including:
1) Improve write performance when Urgent Write occurs,
2) Fix the hang issue when flushing,
3) Reduce the impact on other applications when flushing,
4) Improve the performance on large file copying/reading/writing.
etc.

Re: About L1 and L2 write cache behavior with defer-write enabled

If the "Flush L1 Cache to L2 Cache" option is not enabled, when L1 is full it will trigger Urgent Writes even if the latency has not been reached.

Re: About L1 and L2 write cache behavior with defer-write enabled

arrenwu wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 10:10 pm For writing data, will Primocache always use L1 write cache unless the deferred data amount exceeds L1 write-cache space?
Yes. Ps. Enable "L1 Cache to L2 Cache" if you use both L1 and L2 for defer-write.

Re: RAID 0 and PrimoCache

PrimoCache is not used to create RAID0. Most motherboards support creating RAID. You can check the motherboard manual to see how to create a RAID0.

Re: l2 cache

I have a NVMe SSD connected to my computer via usb3 --- would this a safe place for L2 cache? It is recommended to connect the SSD to the computer internally. If you have to connect via usb, please ensure that the SSD is always connected when Windows is running and don't enable Defer-Write on L2. a...
