Re: Expand SSD with HDD using PrimoCache?

I think you might not need so much L2 write space because defer-write is 10s only. You may need check the Defer-write advanced option "Flush L1 Cache to L2 Cache", thus when L1 is full it won't flush deferred write-data to disks until the latency has expired.

Re: Benefits L2 Cache for nvme with L2 SATA?

No need to set L2 for M.2 SSDs. Using a sata SSD as L2 for M.2 SSDs will slow down the access. It' not worth to extend the longevity by sacrificing the performance. Besides, L1 with Defer-write can also help to reduce the wear on SSDs.

To improve the write performance, you have to enable the Defer-write.

Re: Expand SSD with HDD using PrimoCache?

No, PrimoCache is designed to speed up disk access, for eg. using RAM to speed up SSDs/HDDs, using a SSD to speed up HDDs. It is not designed to increase capacity by merging/binding two drives.

Re: Ability to open up more than one copy of GUI

mmm, it needs to consider synchronize/conflict issues if running more than one copy. We will consider to show activities on multiple drives at the same time within one copy of GUI. Thanks.

Re: 100% write back L2 StorageWrite at 0 percent

If L2Storage Write is for reading the cache, would that mean L2Storage Read is for writing to l2?? "L2Storage Read" is also for reading cache. It means that how many data were read from the L2 cache. As you have it now, writes land on your L2 and get written out to the target drive, but t...

Re: Pointers / Suggestions on new setup

I assume I can use a Storage Space mirror volume and use that with PrimoCache? Yes PrimoCache works as a virtual disk "man in the middle" ? Running PrimoCache locally on the guest VM's with VHDX volumes might be better? Running PrimoCache in VMs should be faster than running it on the hos...
