Read/Write Order PrimoCache and Primo RAMDisk

I am using both - PrimoCache and the Primo RAMDisk. One bigger RAMDisk is loaded from disk at system start and written back at shutdown. It is located on a drive where PrimoCache is active for reading and for deferred writes. Now I was thinking what happens at system start. Will the cache be started...

Re: Help with setting up PrimoCache

I just can talk about the L1 Cache since I do not use the L2 cache. I guess that you have a 64 Bit system. The cache settings depend on your system usage. So I would set up a L1 cache and watch the statistics PrimoCache shows. Only based on this you can set the best values for YOUR system. How much ...

Re: The case for smaller block size

@Stubi: exactly for those reasons you received a free uninstall. But believe me, you were lucky this time  I was not lucky THIS time. I would be lucky at any time as long as the deferred write is not written to disk. I have been using PrimoCache on a RAID 0 system with many external disks and ...

Re: The case for smaller block size

I have deferred writes at 1 hour. If I create some important data I flush them to disk immediately. Or I pause deferred writes for a while for instance at huge writes so that I do not create urgent writes. Same I do before I create backups. Perhaps a feature to customize certain file types and folde...

Re: Save Cache to Disk

This would be a great feature for me too. Sure I could use hibernation. But for whatever reason it takes very long to restore the memory at my Win 7 32 8 GB system (I have a mod to use all the memory). But the mod is not the reason for the slow restore speed. So it would be great if I just could res...

Re: Is the Windows cache off when Primo Cache is on?

So the answer is that the Windows cache is on despite (in addition to) Primo Cache for the selected cached drives if I understood it correctly. This just creates some not useful system overhead whatever argument you bring. But at least we know now. Despite this Primo Cache is still a great product. ...

Is the Windows cache off when Primo Cache is on?

Here I found some details for the standard Windows cache:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 85%29.aspx

Is the Windows cache off for the drives that Primo Cache takes care of? Otherwise I have a cache on the cache.

Re: [2014-04-16] PrimoCache 1.0.1 released!

if you want to use the product for free, then just stick with old free beta, you seem disappointed because the product is no more free, this peace of software don't deserve to be free neither cracked. Also programming drivers is very very very hard... any way... off useless topic. You do not have t...

Desktop <> Server Editions

At the ramdisk and at the cache there are two versions - desktop and server. Sounds interesting but I could not find out what the difference is in detail. Is there any information on this?

Re: [2014-04-16] PrimoCache 1.0.1 released!

Very rare companies test their applications many years over beta release before releasing final distribution, plus when you see alternatives it's all crap... And personally i thing PrimoCache have been stable since release 0.8, the only think i could comment about romexsoftware is that they are not...
