Any disadvantages to using block size higher than the disks?
I know it is recommended to use a block size that is equivalent or lower than the disk's block size, but is there any disadvantages to using higher than the disks? I was using 32kb for my game drive but somehow, the Windows Store/Xbox App won't let me install that drive anymore unless it is 4kb. I c...

Re: How to make L2 cache persistent?
I may as well just install the program into my SSD lol. Though I'm considering playing around with RAMDisk hahaInquiringMind wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 10:12 amYou could try storing them on a ramdisk...audisputnik1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 4:14 pm ...Is there a way to make some programs or games "stick" persistent?...

How to make L2 cache persistent?
So I noticed that after a few days of not using my most frequently played games, it's gone from L2 cache (because it loads so slow). Is there a way to make some programs or games "stick" persistent? Do I then have to launch those games everyday then to make it persistent? Feature request: ...

Bumping this in 2021 since I have the RTX 3090. I'll see if I can utilize my extra VRAM and GDDR6X speeds just for funzies.

Re: Use two, separate L2 cache drives for read and write?
Pretty sure the rule of thumb is one (1) L2 volume per cache task. And once you add a volume to *be* cached (i.e. your boot drive) to a cache task, it isn't available to add to any other cache task again. It is essentially a 1:1 ratio of cache volume to L2 target volume. You can use hardware or sof...

Use two, separate L2 cache drives for read and write?
So far so good with Primocache and I have been messing with it. I like it so much I bought it weeks before the trial expired lol. Anyways, as the title says, is it possible to use two separate L2 cache drives to cache my HDD (game drive)? My use case would be to use my spare 960 EVO for read, and my...

Re: Expand SSD with HDD using PrimoCache?
Ok so here's my final config. Though I read in this forum that 128 cluster size may actually be better to save memory overhead, but then again I'd have to back up my drive again and move it back since I would have to format the drive to change the physical disk's cluster size. Is this good config?

Re: Expand SSD with HDD using PrimoCache?
I think you might not need so much L2 write space because defer-write is 10s only. You may need check the Defer-write advanced option "Flush L1 Cache to L2 Cache", thus when L1 is full it won't flush deferred write-data to disks until the latency has expired. Gotcha. I also increased my L...
