I'm sitting on 16GB of RAM and if I use L2 caching my RAM will fill up and freeze the computer, even though I'm only using a combined 6GB of RAM cache.
My settings:
On HDD:
L1 cache set at 2048MB, LFU-R, Read/Write, No Defer Write
L2 cache set at 40960MB on SSD1 (Z:), MBU
On SSD2 (C:)
L1 cache set at 4096MB, LFU-R, Read/Write, Defer Write 60 Sec
No L2 Cache
Is this a bug or am I missing something?
L2 cache spills over?
Re: L2 cache spills over?
Yup it is a known bug on the L2 caching. For whatever reason, setting L2 causes it to also increase in ram usage base on the L2 size.
The issue is on the list for things to be added and fix if you want to check it out:
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1215
That is number 2 of the list.

Re: L2 cache spills over?
Cool, I'll just leave it deactivated for now then.
Re: L2 cache spills over?
It been awhile that I posted here. If you enable write cache for the L2, then the bug will show. Read only cache does not do this.
