Memory Integrity compatibility

Post by rutra80 »

Is PrimoCache compatible with Memory Integrity feature available in newest Windows? When I try to enable it here, computer freezes on next reboot, and then after reset the feature is disabled.

Memory Integrity protection can cause problems with some device drivers or other low-level Windows applications, which is why it’s disabled by default on upgrades. Microsoft is still pushing developers and device manufacturers to make their drivers and software compatible, which is why it’s enabled by default on new PCs and new installations of Windows 10.

If one of the drivers your PC requires to boot is incompatible with Memory Protection, Windows 10 will silently turn Memory Protection off to ensure your PC can boot and work properly. So, if you try enabling it and reboot only to find it’s still disabled, that’s why.
From What Are “Core Isolation” and “Memory Integrity” in Windows 10?

It should be a simple matter of enabling it and restarting Windows 10 to check and see if it's still on. If it is, Primocache (and/or Primo Ram Disk) are compatible with it. It sounds like your particular mix of OS/Hardware have some issues due to the freeze on reboot. Perhaps Romex is working on compatibility.

I tried on another system and can confirm that PrimoCache is incompatible with Memory Integrity - as soon as both are enabled (no matter which one first), there's a crash on reboot and Memory Integrity disables itself.

Yes, PrimoCache/Primo Ramdisk is not compatible with this.
