I have a 128gb ssd (windows install disc) and a 512gb ssd for games and files. Is it best to assign 1 cache task to each drive? or should I use 1 cache task for both?
separate cache tasks seems to use less ram overal, so I would assume this is the better setup. Thoughts?
1 or 2 cache tasks?
Re: 1 or 2 cache tasks?
Each has plusses and minuses.
- If they are in the same task, they can be serviced by the same large chunk of memory equally.
- If they are in different tasks, the prefetch will run on both simultaneously when booting up.
Personally I prefer separate tasks IF you know how much RAM you'll be needing for each. You can fine-tune the different caches better that way as well. If you just want a fire-and-forget solution that works okay, create only one cache task.
