The problem is serious.
We just experienced a power outage and due to UPS we can at least try a safe shutdown. For some reasons it still takes forever. We need to analyze this.
Cheers

Re: PrimoCache flush write cache taking forever?
it says you have zero free space for writes on l2 cache and also zero data written to the l2 cache in your pic so for some reason data isn't being written to the l2 cache when the l1 gets full.

Re: PrimoCache flush write cache taking forever?
I was wondering, if L2 might have been full but no recent writes, but you may have found the indication to the real problem. This is an Optane card, about the best that exists for this purpose. Eric wrote that there miggt be even a special version for explicitely these cards in the future....
Eric/Support:
Any idea where to look at?
PS: Power outage still persistent should be back up by tomorrow.
Re: PrimoCache flush write cache taking forever?
During the normal flush or manual flush, which is not the urgent flush, PrimoCache always optimize the writing sequences, making it sequential as possible.Axel Mertes wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 7:27 am At which stage in the flush to disk process or general write back to HDD process is an optimization taking place to write back in the most sequential order possible?

I'm really sorry for the late reply because I had a business trip before.
So far PrimoCache cannot tell the status of flushing, the statistics values will not be updated during the flushing. It just simply waits for an event that all dirty blocks are written. The only way is to check if the target disk has writing activities.
