Re: 1Tb SSD Level 2 cache for gaming?
Your understanding of PrimoCache is fine :) Yes, over time it will build up a cache that reflects your usage and accelerates the most frequently accessed data. Using it with a large cache isn't crazy at all! Re: VMs - In my experience, storage in a VM can be set up either as a fully allocated virtua...

Re: 1Tb SSD Level 2 cache for gaming?
You basically have my old build :D Answering your questions in order: Would it be worthwhile to use a 1Tb SSD to cache all of my fps games and virtual machines that are located on a 3Tb HDD? Absolutely yes. As much yes as I can convey :) PrimoCache will help make sure that your most frequently acces...

Re: Event 129 secnvme
Picked up the following new parts: * adata xpg sx8200 pro 512gb NVMe * Corsair HX850i 850wt Platinum PSU Still on the Gigabyte mobo but reseated everything and ran all new cabling. Problems have disappeared. PrimoCache is now running flawlessly using the ADATA XPG as an L2 Cache. So there you have i...

Re: Event 129 secnvme
I agree. There's a reason I went with the 970 in the first place :( What main chipset are you on? My research strongly suggests it's something to do with the Z270 and Z170 in particular. Either way, it may not hit the bar for "widespread" but I'm definitely not alone. A quick search for &q...

Re: Two installs on one PC
I've done this before without issue during testing. Not sure if it goes between Win7 and Win10, but I know that two side-by-side Win10 installations both handled the license just fine. I've also had to "refresh" my license by emailing their support before, and they are very nice to work wi...

Re: question about video streaming
This is actually my current configuration... how can I verify that Primo isn't writing video streaming to the ssd ? It's quite simple: it can't. If you've specified the cache configuration in the advanced settings as Read-only ("Individual Read/Write Cache Space" with the slider set for 1...

Re: Event 129 secnvme
Talked to Samsung today. They're pointing the finger at Windows 10 versions 1803-1809. Hopefully that means a future release of Windows will fix the issue? In the meantime I'm abandoning this endeavor. Not worth the hassle anymore. Gonna sell these two Samsung drives and grab something from another ...
